SHAPING THE FUTURE AT PROPERTY NC
We are proud to organize this unique event in North Cyprus. We would like to once again thank our judging panel, sponsors and contestants who have had the courage to enter this  ear’s awards and to everyone who is working for a better North Cyprus. This year’s slogan was #shapingthefuture. The idea came about as the property sector is truly shaping the future of the island. We all deserve to know that every building on our island is a structure planned in great detail! Propertync Awards, presents the best structures with awards and ensures their fame.

Competing firms (companies) presented their projects and received feedback from the jury members. The success of the winners has been officially registered and the projects  which did not win, gained to find out what their projects were lacking. As our dear jury member Dr. Saadet Aytıs, faculty member of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University said during her speech at the gala
“Winning or not winning is not important, it is being present in this system and competing that counts.”

North Cyprus Has Won
EMU Deputy General Secretary and former TRNC representative Rıza Ömer Çinkılıç summarized the whole evening by saying “There are no losers in this competition. North Cyprus has won”. Starting from 2019, Döveç Construction received the award ‘Best Builder’ followed by Baştaşlar Construction and Özyalçın Construction. Kıbrıs Development was awarded ‘Best Developer’ and Goldmark Estates received an award for ‘Best Estate Agency’. As for Coldwell Banker Maximum, they were awarded for ‘Best Franchise Estate Agency’.

2019`s ‘Best Proposed New Project’ went to Courtyard Long Beach whose construction is being carried out by Döveç Construction in the İskele area and the sillver award went to Baştaşlar Construction for their project The Cove which will be located in the Esentepe area. Baştaşlar Construction’s project Pine Valley received a total of 5 awards.

Kıbrıs Developments has drawn everyone’s attention with its environmentally friendly and Turkish Cypriot Cultural project while Baştaşlar Construction has brought life to the Esentepe area. Each company received 11 awards by the end of the evening. As for Best Builder Döveç Construction, received 10 awards. It’s group of companies Arredo and partner project Four Vision Development also won awards bringing the company’s total award number to 13 by the end of the evening. On the other hand, Northernland Group of Companies, well known for it’s modern architectural designs, won 8 awards in total.

The Propertync Honour Award was given to M. Arch. PhD Fevzi Özersay for his architectural designs for the three big projects of different construction companies.

Increase in The Number of Contestants
The increase in the number of contestants each year has added excitement and efficiency to the organization.

The increase in number has occurred due to the growth of the sector and the increase in the number of categories brought about by the enhancement of options provided. The increase of categories created the opportunity to evaluate each project from a different perspective and in more detail. This is why there are so many categories. A kitchen making company may not be able to present a whole house but shouldn’t it receive an award for best kitchen if it has new ideas for the kitchen sector on the island. The same goes to a commercial building. It wouldn’t be fair to evaluate a commercial building and the interior design of an apartment fit for children in the same category. Furthermore, renewable energy resources are now being used in these projects. This is why compared to previous years 28 categories, this year there were 37 categories.

The points awarded were so close in some categories therefore, it has been decided that, the first three projects of these categories will receive awards. Döveç Construction gained points from the jury for the latest technological devices they use and new techniques they have brought from abroad which resulted in a difference in total points compared to that of their competitors. On the other hand, Kıbrıs Developments caught the eyes of the jury panel for it’s project which was the result of many detailed ideas.

Goldmark Estates won Platinum awards in both contentious categories of Best Estate Agency and Best Sales Team. Last time, Goldmark Estates was a newly established company and had received the platinum award for Best Newcomer. This goes to show that motivation and encouragement such as awards like these can be used as an incentive to become better.

As for the project based awards, Pine Valley by Baştaşlar Construction received 5 awards, Kıbrıs Town Houses by Kıbrıs Developments together with Gave and their sales office, received 5 awards and The Cove again by Baştaşlar Construction received 3 awards by the end of the evening. These projects showed that they were extremely good in more than one area.

On the other hand, Northernland Group of Companies entered with their projects into two categories and showed it had no rivals. They received Platinum and Gold awards with different projects in the categories Best High-Rise Architectural Design and Best Commercial Interior Design. The company won 8 awards in total and won a general approval for the vision it has introduced to the island.

We congratulate again the companies/people who have received awards. North Cyprus is beautiful, thanks to you all!

Same as every year, this year we also prepared special awards for those who won impressed the jury panel the jury panel during presentations and visits. Their motivation and enthusiasm really made an impact on the judging panel. The Propertync Recognition Awards were presented to Architect Yusuf Özerdem and Civil Engineer Menteş Zorba. We wish them the best of luck.

Also, the Propertync Honour award was given for outstanding life long success. The architect of many award-winning projects from different categories, M. Arch. PhD Fevzi Özersay, also works as a consultant for many firms and was the centre of attention of this year’s event. As a team, we wanted to honour North Cyprus’s preceptor.

Moreover, this year participating projects will be presented with a written review (report) by the judging panel. Winners will be informed of their drawbacks if they have any and losers will be informed of why they did not receive an award. We decided to do this because we believe that every company who works for a better North Cyprus will take advantage of this opportunity. Many companies took note of questions asked and advice given during their presentations but many comments were previously kept confidential. All contestants have been informed of the reports and we believe that many of them will use them.

This year, the municipality projects were presented with Propertync Awards for the second time. The number of municipalities entering their projects for evaluation this year has tripled. This proves that the awards are going to the right places. Allowing municipality projects to be evaluated in such a wide ranging event by a competent jury panel is a step in the right direction for a better North Cyprus.
