“We Work With The Vision of Guiding Our Investors”
We are pleased to introduce a new brand to the North Cyrus Real Estate Market. The Aretan Group invited us to their new offices in Yeniboğaziçi, where getting to know this visionary team and their opinions on the market was very enjoyable. We got together with Donya Chehreh Dashti Eker, who has been working in the sector for years and knows the market and Ardalan Etemadansari, who switched to the real estate sector after working as a tourism and financial consultant for various companies after his academic career. We wanted to get to know Aretan Group and ask some questions.
- Could you tell us the story behind Aretan Group and your team?
Donya: As four partners, we decided on the name, Aretan Group, and mapped out our plans. On the one hand we had ongoing businesses as I have been working in the real estate sector for a long time. I have worked as a sales consultant and sales manager in various companies. Both Ardalan and I were trained in tourism and basically the tourism and real estate sectors always go hand in hand. Our education has contributed to our work. We started out as four partners. Niloofar Taheri, was an International Public Relations Manager at a global company focusing on Digital Marketing and Business Development and Sina Chehreh Dashti was a Computer Programming Specialist who deals with overseas marketing operations. We all have areas of expertise and a common vision.
Ardalan: We have worked in many areas at many different levels. We know the difference between being an employee and being a manager in a company. Therefore, we are aware of how we should conduct both ourselves and the people who work with us, and those who will work with us in the future. Every job we do should be capable of being developed, of being transferred and managed without a boss at the top. For this reason, we want everyone within the Aretan Group to regularly attend certain training sessions and for future employees to participate in the training courses we will provide as well.
- The company has the word 'group' in its name and your team consists of managers from different disciplines. Could you tell us about your future plans and how you did this planning?
Ardalan: We have prepared plans for the next 5 and 10 years. Actually, we started with a “branding” agency, talked about our work, decided on the name of the company and everything from our logo to our office design was prepared with a corporate identity. All of these were prepared while considering who we address, with whom we work, what we have done and what we are going to do in the future. We are initially engaged in investment consultancy, but we have a plan to become a group company that will operate in much more diverse fields in the future.
Donya: We started with investment consultancy, but we have many dreams and serious plans for the future. Over time, we will carry out all of our ideas, structured on a professional basis. After all, these are all our dreams and goals, we hope that the care we show in our work will continue to be appreciated and we will continue to serve with the same vision.
- It is exciting to see you have shaped your vision over a long period of time. Could you tell us about the education and backgrounds of the people you either work with now or will work with in the future?
Ardalan: We will certainly give great importance to training. We will carry out important work, especially in terms of communication, both online and in the office, because we believe in how important the exchanging of ideas is. In our previous work places, we got to know our managers, colleagues and customers while experiencing their needs and learnt how to communicate. We will concentrate on developing this.
Donya: We will have friends and agents working from abroad and there will be employees working from the office. We want everyone to be at a certain level and with a certain vision. Our aim in establishing our office in a place far from the city, was to create a calm environment away from the usual city crowds, thus allowing everyone to focus more on their work. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, there is always work-related stress. We want everyone to have the chance to go out into the garden for fresh air or sit by the pool to let off some steam.
- What about your customers? As I understand it, your plans are not just sales’ oriented.
Donya: Absolutely. We don’t actually sell, we provide investment consultancy. It is the construction companies that will finalise the sale, we introduce our customers to them. Our customers also experience the difference of working with us, they come to us to benefit from our guidance. You know that the biggest advantage of North Cyprus is its liveability. It is an island paradise with its serenity, sea and climate. In order for our customers to enjoy North Cyprus, we choose and recommend the most suitable projects and offer them residences where they can spend their holidays or live their lives. We also determine individual investment opportunities and projects.
- When you consider the socio-economic situation of İran, what advice do you give to those who want to go to places away from the political tension of Iran?
Donya: First of all, I want to make this clear, we also came from Iran and we now live in this country. We are very happy. But going from one place to another just to escape can actually become worse for those who do not have adequate means. We respond honestly to those who contact us on this matter, especially to requests from Iran. This is a small country and job opportunities cannot be created for everyone who comes. This is a country that is most suitable for holiday makers and those who want to spend their retirement here, or large investors.
Ardalan: We knew from the start that this was so. Now we are in a position to give advice on the sector we are in. We have already stated that we are not only sales oriented, we cannot consider customers only as the commission they will bring. Since we provide a continuous service, we guide our investors in the truths we believe in. Since our main market is Iran, we talk about these issues with a lot of Iranians and they know we are doing our best. We provide comprehensive advice to people and of course we are working to ensure they benefit from their investments in North Cyprus but we believe that investments must be in the shape to meet certain standards.
- I was also wondering about your working network; how do you reach your customers?
Donya: We started our work through Iran, we will soon open up to the European market in line with our business plan and as a third step we will open to the Russian market towards the end of summer. The infrastructure is ready, we will expand as our team completes its training. Our first method of finding investors is through referrals. They must be satisfied with the services we have offered people in our work so far because they recommend us for their next purchase or when someone they know needs advice. As well as this, the relationships we have established due to our international connections have also produced very effective results.
