Kıbrıs Developments, a prominent company in the Northern Cyprus real estate sector known for its innovative approach and adherence to international standards, recently hosted a special event that highlighted the value of art in life by introducing new living and art spaces.
The event featured a video exhibition titled "What is _space?" which aimed to explore the concept of space in various contexts. Additionally, the guests were treated to a remarkable performance by Todds and Friends, an exceptional orchestra comprising leading musicians from the country.
During the event held at the Kibris Developments Head Office campus, Harper Özbirim, the Project Development and Marketing Director of Kibris Developments, delivered a special presentation. Özbirim mentioned that their company has created numerous "spaces" including residential projects as living spaces, socio-cultural spaces, with Gave as an example, and commercial areas with Çağ Petrol. However, he acknowledged that an art space was missing, and they have now addressed this gap by introducing the art and exhibition area called "_space." Özbirim emphasized that they integrate art into all of their projects, and they showcased the MEDITERRA project as part of the inaugural exhibition in _space, titled Mediterranean Living Art. Furthermore, Özbirim shared the exciting news that they are currently working on adding another area to their portfolio, which will be a cultural heritage site within the walls of Nicosia. This project aligns with their mission to preserve and carry forward our cultural heritage into the future.
The MEDITERRA housing project, positioned adjacent to the nearly completed TERRA project in the Alsancak region, stands as yet another remarkable endeavor by Kibris Developments. MEDITERRA, envisioned as a sustainable Mediterranean village and a synthesis of modern living, aims to become a signature project for the company. Inspired by traditional Mediterranean villages, it incorporates the architectural and social heritage of Cyprus, focusing on two main axes: one dedicated to social activities and the other themed around production.
The courtyard-style residential blocks that define these axes, along with the passageways and streets connecting them, are positioned in direct relation to the main axes. On the other hand, the villa blocks are designed as autonomous structures along the streamfront within the site.
The exhibition in space represents a unique presentation of the showhouse concept, taking it to a new level. It effectively showcases the two main axes of the MEDITERRA project, the production axis and the social axis, which embody elements that enhance the sense of community and belonging. With a carefully curated display, the exhibition was highly appreciated by the guests in attendance.
The exhibition in space provides a remarkable opportunity for potential buyers of the MEDITERRA project. It goes beyond mere ideas and 3D visuals by offering a tangible experience where individuals can touch, feel, and truly immerse themselves in the project. This experiential approach has a positive impact on the purchasing decision, as it allows customers to save time and enjoy the convenience of selecting materials and furniture from various options in one place.
Within space, the exhibition for the MEDITERRA project showcases not only the materials to be used in construction but also fixed and movable furniture, all displayed in their exact dimensions. Furthermore, Kibns Developments has secured agreements with reputable brands, enabling project customers to benefit from advantageous conditions when purchasing white goods, built-in appliances, and small household appliances.
At the event, an experience where real and artificial intelligence converged was presented through the video exhibition "What is _space?" created by Beaz Kreatif. The exhibition featured a total of 8 short video projects that combined AI technology and a modern art approach, exploring the concept of spatial and temporal perception. The concept design and story were developed by Erol Kutay, Mehmet Kozal, and Umay Y. Kutay, while the 3D & Video Arts were executed by Erol Kutay, Mehmet Kozal, and Ali Alkan. Emre Yazgın contributed to the Sonic Arts, and Umay Yılmaz Kutay served as the Creative Director and Curator of the exhibition. The "What is _space?" exhibition took place with the valuable contributions of Anastasia Baranowski, Ayşe Taşkın, Harper Özbirim, Irmak M. Çiçek, Studio KOZO, and Ufuk Demirbağ.
