    “Our success in the fight against the epidemic will positively affect foreign investors”

    Özbirim emphasized that he thinks that our success as a country in the fight against the epidemic will positively affect foreign investors, and that they have no concerns that they will continue their ongoing activities as a company, their economic and physical structure, without any disruption, thanks to the company's financial strength and experienced staff. Özbirim also stated that since Kıbrıs Developments is a company that attaches importance to nature, cleanliness, people and sustainability and produces living spaces with wide open spaces, it has been confirmed that its projects are in the right line for health and comfort in a way that can meet the expectations of customers in today's conditions.

    Stating that he believes that qualified projects will be in demand in the future, Özbirim said, “Especially after Covid-19 concerns emerged, it has once again been revealed how well we have built the right living spaces with our projects. It is obvious how risky the cramped buildings in big cities around the world are, especially in terms of health and pandemic issues. Since we are in an island country like the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we have experienced our health advantages in the Covid-19 experience, as the epidemic was brought under control in a short time compared to the rest of the world. "As an island country, we are in a position to comfortably state that our country is quite safe against health threats in the coming period," he said.

     “All levers must be mobilized for the economy to gain momentum again”

    Expressing his suggestions regarding the measures that the government should take and new practices to pave the way for the sector, Özbirim said, “In order to overcome many negativities created by the pandemic, it is very important that our state manages this long process in a planned and correct manner. After the necessary health measures are taken, we expect the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to allocate serious planning and budget and promote to the world how successfully it has managed the pandemic and how successful, safe and advantageous we are in terms of both tourism, construction and increasing confidence in our country. Afterwards, in order for the economy to gain momentum again, it will be effective to mobilize all the levers in our country, to ensure the mobility of private enterprises, to quickly provide hot, long-term loans, and to reduce taxes on the buyer and consumer side in terms of construction and real estate in an attractive and encouraging way. In our country, the housing acquisition procedures and deadlines for real estate buyers who are not TRNC citizens are outdated. Time is more valuable than anything else in human life and economy. “It is very important that legislation on the public side be facilitated and accelerated.”

He said that Çağ Petrol has been continuing its services since the first day, all the test results of all its employees were negative and they continued their services by keeping the precautions at the highest level. He noted that Kıbrıs Developments, which operates in the construction sector, started working again on May 4 with the approval of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, that the construction of the Natura project continues, and that if a decision is not taken to close again, they will deliver it to the homeowners in December 2020, as they promised.

    Özbirim said, “Work on our other planned projects continues. Our customers who spent 50 days of quarantine on our sites and award-winning projects had a great time. There has been an increase in rental demands in the Kıbrıs Town project. Located at the intersection of Kıbrıs Town Houses and Natura projects, Gave, which revives the almost extinct coffeehouse culture with a modern approach, started to serve in the take-away system as of May 11, after the disinfection processes and the tests of our employees were completed.
