Miro Designroom individual projects unit in 5 questions

Münevver Özgür Özersay Architect, Founding Director and Individual Project Sales Coordinator

Shopping is an integral part of our daily lives, whether it's done online or in person. Our shopping preferences and culture can be reflected in the places we choose to shop. So, where do you feel comfortable while shopping? Have you ever shopped at places that don't align with your usual preferences? These questions resonate with all of us because, in general, we prefer innovative and interactive shopping environments.
To address the inquiries regarding the Individual Projects Unit of Miro Designroom, a shopping space that specializes in bathroom, floor, and wall materials, I'll provide clear and concise answers.

In Miro Designroom, you are divided into Corporate and Individual Project units. We have heard about Corporate Projects from you before. So, what do you mean by 'Individual Projects'?

In Miro Designroom, the Individual Projects unit focuses on projects where individuals seek and select products for their own personal spaces. These projects can involve one or more individuals, such as spouses, children, or even professionals like interior architects or architects. Each project is unique and specific to the individual's needs and preferences, which makes it highly personalized and non-reproducible.

Who visits Miro Designroom in addition to Individual Project customers?

In addition to individual project customers, Miro Designroom attracts a diverse range of visitors from the construction industry. This includes architects, interior architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, contractors, and other professionals. These professionals visit the store independently but gather together within the Miro Designroom environment, which resembles a material and design center.

Furthermore, Miro Designroom also welcomes manufacturers and solution partners from whom they source products. Although there was a temporary pause during the pandemic, these partners are usually diligent in their visits, and Miro Designroom values the opportunity to gather information and receive training from them. Consultations with these partners help in shaping the representation of their products in the store, creating a collaborative approach.

Additionally, students also visit Miro Designroom. Lecturers and academics from various design-focused higher education institutions bring their students to the store as part of their classes. Miro Designroom takes pleasure in sharing knowledge with these students and hosting them, contributing to their design education.

If there was a concept called Miro Designroom language, what kind of language would it be?

If we were to define a concept called "Miro Designroom language,' it would encompass several languages that are used within the organization. Firstly, there is the language of commerce, which revolves around numbers. This numerical language serves as a guiding force, allowing the Miro team to analyze and comprehend their business actions.

Secondly, there is a hybrid language that is professionally employed. As employees of a supplier company, this language resembles a foreign language
that we all need to learn the language of the product supply world. It involves phonetics, repetitive formulas, form, placement, and functionality. Each team member discovers this language in their own way, progressing from phonetics to words, from words to sentences, and from sentences to stories. Ultimately, this language is blended with products, materials, and spatial design, incorporating visual communication tools to effectively convey information to customers.

Lastly, there is a technical language that acts as a bridge between the implementation teams and customers. This language manifests itself both verbally and professionally. It comes into play during measurements, where the filtered information serves as a basis for design and application drawings. This technical language is indispensable for Miro, as it unveils the technical ingenuity and elegance behind every product and material. Without proficiency in this language, it would be challenging for these elements to find their place in various spaces. Learning this technical language often requires a significant investment of time and effort.

What does Miro offer its customers through these languages?

Through the hybrid language that combines the worlds of supply and design, Miro offers its customers a range of benefits. This language is utilized in negotiations and in providing offers to customers. It is also evident in the design of the store itself.

In customer interactions, this language is expressed through various means such as mood boards, project-specific presentations, or three-dimensional drawings. These tools have different components and serve different purposes, adapting to the specific needs, budget, and overall design vision. However, there are foundational principles that Miro never compromises on: quality, durability, usability, and aesthetics.

By employing these languages, Miro establishes and deepens its relationships with customers throughout the sales process while maintaining professionalism. This fosters a sense of trust between Miro and its customers. It is important to acknowledge that the construction process can be challenging and unforeseen issues may arise during the procurement or application stages. In such cases, Miro remains focused on two key aspects: identifying the problem at hand and finding a solution to resolve it.

Moodboard, three-dimensional drawings, technical drawings given to masters, etc., which you mentioned in the previous question. Do your clients pay an additional fee for the work?

No, Miro does not charge an additional fee for providing services such as mood boards, three-dimensional drawings, or technical drawings to its clients. Miro values and respects architecture, interior design, and related professions. We believe that by utilizing these visual communication tools, products can be perceived not only as commercial objects but also as design elements. This transformation positively influences the shopping culture, which becomes more design-oriented.

Miro believes that consciously familiarizing end users with the content of their projects and providing detailed information about the products they are choosing contributes to their sense of freedom, authenticity, and tranquility in the resulting space. The ultimate goal is to ensure the happiness and satisfaction of both the clients and Miro itself.
