Interview with Mustafa Onuk
"We Respect the Nature"
The Arredo brand is a company under Döveç Group and has reflected its success and expertise by winning two Platinum awards at the Propetync Awards 2019. Kitchen of the year was awarded for Batur Sağlamer’s Kitchen project, and The Best Industrial Development award was given for the Arredo Design Office. Both projects received full marks from the jury panel. With this achievement, we were given the opportunity to ask Arredo Kitchen & Furniture manager Mustafa Onuk a few questions.
- Mr. Onuk, firstly let’s discuss your award-winning project. What made Batur Sağlamer’s Kitchen stand out from other kitchens? Why do you think it was chosen as Kitchen of the year?
As Arredo Design we design more than furniture. We design and create living spaces and make an effort to create to the best of our ability. This is what we did for this project. We aimed for an innovative, modern and unique design. It seems we were able to do so. We create our design in accordance to global standards and modern times. I think this is the main factor of this successful outcome.
- Arredo started by completing jobs for Döveç Construction but now it has become a firm with bigger objectives. How has Arredo expanded over the years?
This expansion happened gradually. We realised that Arredo began to continuously improve in the design sector therefore we were able to build the foundation of the firm with the help of our progressing team. Today we are considered as a unique brand in the design sector.
- Today there has been progress in your office/factory located in the Famagusta Industrial area. This building won the Best Industrial Development Award. What can you tell us about the changes and improvements made here?
Arredo is constantly improving and with its innovative ideas it has created its own possibilities. Growing was inevitable this is why the need for a new location became vital. Our building grew in order to facilitate our needs and is still growing today. Of course this successful project was the result of our architects and their team’s ideas. We are proud of being entitled to an award, as it is the result of our long-term success.
- Does Arredo only make furniture?
No, Arredo deals with all designs required, not just furniture. We can present customers with different Kitchen designs and are able to support them in every aspect while creating living spaces.
- You use FSC certified products and recycle waste products into sustainable forms. We you expand on this.
Actually this is a forest protection certificate. This certificate is given to companies and franchises, which protect naturally formed or grown (planted) forests. As Arredo Design we respect nature and try to be as environmentally friendly as possible because we use raw materials which come from the nature.
- Lastly, What are your views on the Propertync Awards organisation? You have received 7 awards in total since 2014, what can you tell us?
We are proud to be receivers of such awards, especially the Propertync Awards. Seeing our name among the best on the island is inspiring. We are happy to know that our work and effort deserves awards. We hope that we will be able to receive similar results at the next awards ceremony.
