It is really meaningful to have a say on behalf of myself and my company on such a beautiful subject. First of all, when I think of the city of İskele, I would very much like to have the sea pier, which has been connected with a public open space that is literally worthy of İskele's name for years.
I think it would not be wrong to say that it is the municipality that uses the coastline most efficiently within the scope of bicycle and walking paths among the TRNC cities. Of course, existing bicycle paths must be linked to an effective public space. It would be very appropriate to transform green (landscape) areas into spaces that provide suitable activity opportunities for different age groups while constructing public spaces.
Of course, as the city of İskele, I believe that it is necessary to make different and more scientific approaches in order to be distinguished from other TRNC cities and world cities; For example, I believe that it will be a good initiative to organize an international architecture contest for public open spaces on the coastline and closed areas to be built, and to open the city of İskele to the world and to introduce it to overseas magazines that will make a splash in terms of urbanism and architecture.
Another issue is that I would see it as a prestigious investment to build a modern museum where workshops, conferences and many scientific events can be held for children and young people that will shed light on the past and the future. An example of a fishing city in Spain, had a very experienced architect like Bilbao. Frank Gehry designed a modern city museum, they built and currently thousands of tourists flock to Bilbao to see the unique architecture of the museum building and to experience the museum and the city (after current restrictions obviously). I think a similar situation should be applied in the city of İskele.
Of course, I believe that all the public spaces that I mentioned above will increase day by day with good planning for the city and investors. As Dörter Construction, I would like to share here that we will be honoured to take an effective role in all business partnerships that may be beneficial for İskele and to contribute financially and morally. I hope all these discourses are not only in writing and contemporary, İskele, which competes with the cities of the world, will be our future.
