No doubt, this Covid-19 pandemic came like a tsunami to Cyprus, silent, sudden and unexpected. It put almost a year of the businesses in real estate, construction and tourism on hold, which has led to many businesses closing down or struggling with financial difficulties; however was it such a bad year? I would say: NO!
Why?
Going through tough times makes you stronger! It makes you come out of your comfort zone and it challenges you to think differently, to be more creative and allowing you to try new ventures, learn new technologies, new marketing tools and to improve your knowledge.
The pandemic is still a financial disaster for almost all countries, governments and people around the world.
Travelling was, and still is, not really possible, however the dream for a new stage of life, a better life, in a sunny and especially a safe and healthy country, enjoying precious time with friends and family has never been more important as it is at the moment!
The TRNC government has handled the pandemic in such a professional way, that I am proud to inform my clients we are living in one of the safest countries in Europe!
In the summer we saw many Turkish Cypriots (locals and living abroad), purchase vast amounts of property and land either for investment purposes or for future homes.
Some foreigners were so determined to purchase here that they travelled during these uncertain times and spent seven days in quarantine, just to fulfil their dreams.
Many customers however could not come and visit us, so we created beautiful videos of all of our new and existing properties and organised live walk-through videos to view the properties. I was overwhelmed with how many customers were reserving properties and even following through and purchasing properties online, without even seeing them!
As a result of Brexit, the current sales market is an absolutely buyers’ market, offering lots of great price reductions and builders offering long term payment plans with no interest rates! The living cost is much cheaper here compared to other countries in Europe, due to the inflation of the Turkish Lira, which is especially attractive for young families or retired people.
We are receiving inquiries from many international customers, whom have been very patient this year and cannot wait to be able to fly over and visit our beautiful island!
I am positive that 2021 will be a successful year for all our businesses in North Cyprus. Be prepared and stay safe!
