A Surprise From Kyrenia Based Özyalçın to Famagusta
Good news for this 12-storey building which has remained in semi-construction for years, in one of the most important parts of Famagusta, has come from Kyrenia based construction company, Özyalçın Construction. The director of company, Yağmur Özyalçın, shared this building’s photo with the hashtag ‘SOLD’, on her social media account recently.
The building is located on Topçular Bulvarı which connects two of the main streets in the centre of Famagusta and which has remained half-finished due to construction being stopped a long time ago; it has certainly had a negative effect on the image of the city.
In such a central location, the ruined building was becoming more dangerous by the day and it certainly provided a visual pollution. It was seen that bricks were broken and had fallen from some parts of the building, which had not reached the stage of being plastered. There were certainly negative reactions from locals who were concerned that the building was not safe and there were no safety precautions around it.
For the city of Famagusta, known for its major historical features, such a building was an eyesore. From time to time it has always been rumoured that local contractors were attempting to find a solution, but basically nothing has changed for many years.
So now the good news for this 12-storey, semi-derelict, unloved building in central Famagusta, has come from Kyrenia construction company, Özyalçın Construction, with the social media news from company director Yağmur Özyalçın, who shared the building’s photo with the hashtag ‘SOLD’.
This action by Özyalçın Construction, which has many important projects and has won numerous awards in Kyrenia, has excited the people of Famagusta, especially those who see this eyesore every day. Taking into consideration the building’s valuable location it can be expected that it will be pulled down to make way for a new project to propel the area into the future.
As well as this news, Özyalçın Construction has a villa project, Casa Olivia in Kyrenia Zeytinlik, currently under construction, and the Özyalçın 191/192 residence project in Kyrenia Center, which was announced last month.
