Özahi Design was founded in 2017 by interior designer couple Merve and Mustafa Özahi, and since then, they have been providing design and implementation services in various areas such as residential, hotel, restaurant, retail, office, clinic, school, pharmacy, market, and garden landscaping projects.
In this issue, we are at Ülfet Shu, designed by Özahi Design.
Under the Ülfet Shu umbrella, there are Ülfet which is a new generation tavern, Ülfet Beach, Ovis Coffes, and Ülfet Bangkok.
Ülfet is a female name meaning "to meet, socialize, converse." Shu, on the other hand, means "belonging to Chinese" and also carries meanings such as modern, lucky, cheerful, and meticulous.
Ülfet Shu is beautiful both during the day and night. During the day, you can enjoy the sea and sun at the Beach and end the day with a happy hour, and in the evening, you can continue to have fun at Ülfet Restaurant.
The construction process of Ülfet Restaurant took 15 days. This is truly a record in the scale of Cyprus. We successfully completed the 15-day construction process, including holidays, under the leadership of Mehmet Yücel, the partner of Cyprus Royal Tourism and FLY KHY. As Özahi Design, we undertook the design and implementation follow-up of all the spaces.
The general style in the venue is bohemian, but we chose the color red for some accessories, logos, and lights in the Beach section to create a dynamic atmosphere. For example, the ceramics and night lights of the pool with cabanas in Ülfet Beach are red. It became a unique and vibrant pool in bright red. Additionally, there is a three-meter red elephant sculpture at the entrance of the venue.
We used textured white plaster throughout the venue. We took great care to use red color in a well-balanced manner. Oak wood, black, hazeran, and natural linen fabrics, bamboo, natural materials, and terracotta color were used in furniture and accessories. To create a warmer and more intimate atmosphere, the design includes plenty of accessories, sculptures, mirrors, tropical plants, and lighting.
You can take photos in every corner of Ülfet
We have a sculpture at the entrance that puckers its lips to give a kiss, and in the Beach section, we have a sculpture sticking out its tongue. Our three-meter red elephant sculpture at the entrance has become a focal point for photo enthusiasts. The red crocodile sculpture on the sand and the glasses-wearing dog sculpture at the bar were also highly appreciated. A relief-like wall application was made by Greyart Work at the entrance and beach area of Ülfet Shu. This application was done for the first time in Cyprus and became a striking wall. You can even take photos in the curved walls surrounding Ülfet Restaurant, the niche wall filled with bohemian accessories, and even in the restrooms and restroom corridors.
"When designing a space, we strive to think about even the smallest details as a whole and reflect the overall concept in all areas, ensuring its originality. There is no other place like Ülfet concept in Cyprus. With its venue design and entertainment approach, Ülfet has become the apple of Girne's eye. You can chat and have something to eat until 22:00, but at 22:00, all the lights go out, bells are distributed, and Evren Kerem takes the stage "Are you ready for fun, Ülfet?" chants and hits the gong, and the entertainment begins.
Ülfet Shu was founded by Rauf Denktaş, Nusret Polat, and Mehmet Yücel, partners of Cyprus Royal Tourism and Fly KHY.
The design and implementation supervision of Ülfet Shu were carried out by Özahi Design. All construction works of the venue were undertaken by Önsay Aktolga and Tolga Tüfekçi.
All woodworking was done by Türksoy Ahşap, Bayram Türksoy. The relief wall design was done by Greyartwork, Nurlu, and Çizel. All lighting was provided by Lina Aydınlatma, and the decorative products, bamboo furniture, and complementary lighting that made the entire venue a focal point were supplied by Tuse Home. Our curtains were made by NG Dekor, and the floor cushions in the beach area were produced by Sirdaş Mobilya. All electrical infrastructure and installation works were carried out by Kaya Elektrik, Ahmet Savaşhan, and the aluminium works were done by Günpen Cüneyt. The mechanical installation works were undertaken by Mustafa Sakallı.
